"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..."

There Was an Old Lady Who...

As time keeps ticking we are still waiting for Grandma to make her way to the courts to say, "Oui, c'est le mien". That should be about all it takes along with an ID. Simple.

The last few attempts to take her to the courthouse have been unsuccessful because she has been too sick. This has been for the last four weeks now. We are concerned for her wellness and the ramifications if she were to die - she is an older frail woman.
Grandma with Leika in spring 2010

Pray for the health of Grandma as she is somewhat involved in Leika's life (random occasional visits to the orphanage) and critical to our adoption process at this point.

There is also a lot happening with the Haitian government and adoption laws. Much of this is good - from what we understand - but could have a variety of effects on our process.

Continue to pray for our roller coaster and that the wheels stay on the track. Thanks!

Poor Gramma. She knows she is going to lose the last connection she has with her daughter that has died. The papers that are so necessary for her to sign are also the scissors that cut that last remaining connection. But, for Leika we pray it happens soon.
