"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..."

The End of Summer

As summer closes here we still wait. There has been a fair amount of movement with adoptions in the government and at GLA. We have seen new referrals come from GLA and others enter into the maze of IBESR. Several other adoptions have made good progress through the gantlet. Our little girl still sits in the same place but should be moving up the queue in the system. It is encouraging to see other files get processed along, it means something is happening.

As we head into fall, we are still wondering if we have some additional hoops to make our way through. Only time will tell. They are only hoops, and not flaming hoops, so the path is not as daunting as it could be. We know of another adoptive family at GLA whose hoops burst into flames and they had to start over form the beginning with a new child. We are fortunate to just be in a holding pattern and still have our girl waiting for us and us for her.

As Tropical Storm/Hurricane Issac swept through Haiti it caused a mess of flooding in the country. The orphanage was relatively unscathed as it sits up in a higher elevation. They were just cooped up for three days. Following the storm it was summer again. So they had a pool party for all the kids which they all seemed to love. At 3:50 you can see Leika loving the pool, the kids, the fun.

Moving ahead we continue practicing patience and look for any sign of progress. We pray for speed and clarity of process. We are eager but realize it is not in our hands and sits in God's timing.
