A Long Time Coming

The last time we spoke was nearly 10 months ago. Why so silent? There was nothing to say because nothing had changed. After nearly 14 months of waiting for something, for anything to happen, there is reason to celebrate! We have the coveted signature of Little Micky (also know and the Haitian President) and are told we may be traveling in less then two weeks! Le Monitor, the Port au Prince newspaper published Leika's name making it official!  Leika Antoine (soon to be Williams) Why the newspaper? Why not? This is what makes it official in a land of odd and mysterious ways.

The government did lose our paperwork and the orphanage had to hire another lawyer assigned just to our case to get it moving, but moving it is! Now we are in a rush to travel the first of two trips in just days. There is a real possibility that we will have Leika home and in our arms before Christmas this year! I will believe it when I am standing in Miami holding her before I will admit that it is real however. 

There have been so many things delayed, lost, and prolonged in this process I don't know if I dare to hope and plan again.

Pray for the remaining steps to proceed smoothly, a safe and fabulous trip in July, final mental adjustments for our whole family as we get closer to this reality, and that God is preparing Leika for us as well.
