The Judge Didn't Feel Like It!

We were able to get in touch with Dixie, the director of GLA in Haiti who responded quickly telling her staff to take Grandma to the courts every other day, regardless if she wanted to go. It didn't sound like Granny had been cooperative and the people taking her were not too persuasive.

They took Granny. The judge was there. And this is the email we received from Dixie following the visit:
I wanted to write you and let you know that the judge refused to see the grandmother.  It is a new judge and he has not decided yet if he will see family for family consents or not.  We are waiting for him to make a decision and let us know.  Believe me, we are as frustrated as you are and the Grandmother is LIVID!

I want to poke my eyes out with frustration!! This is where we sit. One step forward and two steps backwards. We need our paperwork to be accepted into IBESR before they decide what to do about the Hague Convention which is still up in the air. This decision could possibly halt adoptions for years.

Pray for our sanity and for Haiti. This decisions (or lack there of) is a reflection of the countries inability to function well.
